Summer Grad Assistantship Opportunity with Dr. Philip Gamaghelyan

Faculty Supervisor: Dr. Philip Gamaghelyan

Description/ Duties and Responsibilities:
GA will support Philip Gamagheyan in hosting a cohort of 14 foreign Kroc School Certificate in Mediation and Conflict Transformation from August 16 to September 3, 2023. The cohort is funded by the US Department of State and includes experienced practitioners and academics from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Abkhazia, and South Ossetia.

Responsibilities include helping with: signing up into Blackboard and other USD systems, finding San Diego housing, airport pick up, orienting in San Diego, field trips to LA and locally, and organizing the commute to and from campus.

Qualifications:

GA should have a car and be willing to help the Certificate Students with occasional commuting to and from campus.

Interest in the conflict in the South Caucasus or Russia/Ukraine is a plus.

Number of Hours:

It is expected that students collaborate for 40 hours per semester. Please note actual hours will vary by position and are typically between 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

Compensation:

Students selected for a Kroc School GA position will receive $1,200 in funding, which will be applied toward tuition costs during the semester in which they have been selected. Assistantship awards do not cover student fees, books or other expenses.
