Kroc School New Student Orientation

Kroc School New Student Orientation is a requirement of the degree requirements for all Kroc School graduate programs.

The Spring 2024 Kroc School New Orientation includes 3 parts:

  1. A remote, self-paced orientation course in Canvas.
    • The course will be available on Thursday, January 11, 2024. Kroc Academic Programs will enroll you in the course, directions on how to access the course in Canvas are below.
    • All modules and assignments need to be completed before Thursday, February 1 at 11:59 PM PST.
  2. In-person orientation on Friday, February 2, 2024, 12:00 – 4:00 PM
    • Located on USD’s campus at the Kroc Institute for Peace & Justice (KIPJ).
    • Check this page for the schedule of events, session descriptions, and FAQs. Please note the schedule is subject to change.
    • Please fill out this form and let us know if you be attending Orientation in person or virtually over Zoom. We ask additional questions regarding accommodations and dietary restrictions. The deadline to fill out this form is Wednesday, January 24, at 11:59 PM PST. 
  3. 2024 Winter Celebration reception on Friday, February 2, 2024, 5:00 – 6:30 PM
    • This annual event is a way for our Kroc community to come together to celebrate the Spring semester and welcome you to the Kroc School!
    • Kroc School students, alumni, faculty, administrators, staff, and campus partners are invited to mix and mingle over appetizers and drinks.
    • The reception will be held at La Gran Terraza at the Hahn University Center on the east side of USD’s main campus.
    • Be sure to RSVP before Wednesday, January 24, 2024. 

How to find the Orientation course on Canvas:

  1. Navigate to Canvas at https://canvas.sandiego.edu.
  2. Log in with your USDOne credentials.
  3. On your Dashboard, you should see the course(s) that you are registered for. The Orientation course that you are registered for is based on the degree program you are enrolled in:
    1. MAPJ New Student Orientation (KROC-501-01)
    2. MASI New Student Orientation (KROC-501-02)
    3. MS-CMR New Student Orientation (KROC-501-03)
