COVID-19 Vaccination & Arrival to Campus Protocol for International Students

The below email was sent on July 22 from the Office of International Students and Scholars to all new and returning international students with additional information on vaccination and international arrival guidance. International students should reference this email as well as the information on our COVID-19 International Student FAQ and Newly Admitted Students webpages for additional details.

“Hello International Students,

We hope this email finds you healthy and safe.
We understand there are many questions regarding the COVID-19 vaccination and arrival to campus guidelines as we near the start of the fall semester. OISS has put together a helpful resource guide here which reviews the following:
  • Vaccination related items all international students must submit to the university by August 1st
  • International arrival health and safety requirements for all students that will be traveling to USD from abroad
Please review these items thoroughly and be sure to reference the “Additional Resources” section of the document which provides links to several Frequently Asked Questions sites including the COVID-19: International Student FAQs.
Our office is hosting an information session on Tuesday, July 27th at 8:30am PST to allow students to ask any questions you may have regarding the COVID-19 Vaccination and Arrival guide above. Register to attend here.
If you are in need of a COVID-19 vaccine upon arrival:
The USD Student Health Center is hosting COVID-19 vaccine clinics on Thursday, August 19th and Friday, August 20th. Please register here for an appointment. If these appointment slots fill up the SHC will offer additional vaccine clinics in the future. Be sure to complete the Vaccine Information Google Form to allow the SHC planning time to provide vaccines to those in need.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you all back in person on campus soon!
Warmest regards,
The Office of International Students & Scholars”
