A feat people deemed impossible for hundreds of years was accomplished by two spectacular men. Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norway were the first to ascend Mt. Everest’s near 30,000 ft summit. Sir Edmund Hillary grew up in New Zealand where unbeknownst to him he was training to ascend a near unconquerable mountain. Norway, on the other hand, was a local to the Himalayan Mountain Range. He lived in Nepal all his life making his living as a sherpa.
