Writing has always been a highly revered skill and the medium in which it is performed has changed from quill and parchment to pen and paper to typing on a computer. It seems that the medium that is utilized is up to the author but it can affect the author and their health. Bronowski and Clark were writers that wrote about early infrastructure and how it evolved. They observed how the human race’s knowledge and use of tools advanced and how we were able to develop complex cathedrals and aqueducts to transport running water. In an unconventional way, they filmed a short television series first then followed that with their published insights. Unfortunately, Bronowski passed away before his mini-series aired in the United States because filming and traveling while working on his written work, was too much. Due to the fact that televisions were not common in a home until the 1960s, is the most likely reason why feminist Virginia Woolf did not get her own show. Woolf was an activist who advocated for women’s equality, especially when it came to being authors or having any other job. While she had access to mostly pen and paper, she was a lecturer at various colleges so she had another platform to spread her work. These authors were highly educated and were extremely knowledgeable of the topics they were writing about. Since they lacked the distractions that accompanies the internet and social media, they were able to present their astonishing pieces and gain popularity on their own time. Some mediums are definitely more stressful than others, but Bronowski, Clark, and Woolf utilized the resources available to them and wrote educational and timeless pieces.
