Image may contain: 4 people, people smiling, textHigh Tech High is pleased to announce the 2nd annual Passing the Torch event on Wednesday, 2/27, at the High Tech High Forum (2150 Cushing Rd, 92106) from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.
Dr. Clarence Jones is headlining the event. Dr. Jones worked directly with Dr. King and even smuggled the Letter from a Birmingham Jail out of that jail cell.
We will also hear from Andres Chavez, a grandson of Cesar Chavez, as well as other young San Diegans.
The purpose of Passing the Torch events is to share lessons from civil rights leaders with an intergenerational audience, so that we may all learn from that history and apply it today.
As such, this is a free and open event for the public. Children and students are welcome as well.

As with last year, we will have spoken word artists, a book signing, and time for Q&A.

  • Please RSVP here to help with planning purposes.
  • Heavy appetizers will be served.
