Fall 2022 Student Professional Development Awards
The CMFT Department encourages students to get involved in professional organizations relevant to their career development,  attend academic and professional conferences as well as to conduct original research. We invite students to apply for financial support to attend and present their work at a conference. Funds are intended to offset conference and other professional development expenses. Priority is given to students who will be presenting scholarly work. More information can be found on the CMFT Student Professional Development Award application, due October 1st.

*Another professional development funding source comes from SGSA’s grant. According to SGSA’s advisor, the application will be updated soon for Fall 2022*

CATALYST First Generation Coaching
Are you a First-Generation student in SOLES? Do you find yourself overwhelmed with the transition into grad school life, classes, fieldwork/practicum, etc.? Do you struggle with feeling like an imposter, or find yourself second-guessing your abilities as a student and future counselor, therapist, leader or teacher? Do you feel like you could benefit from some additional support around these (and other) topics?
Check out CATALYST, a coaching initiative created to support First-Generation students in SOLES. Coaching sessions will focus on goal-setting around personal and professional development (as determined by each client), as well as what may be getting in the way of those goals and what additional support is needed to achieve them.
For more information on CATALYST (as well as what coaching is and isn’t) please see below and email nonprofit@sandiego.edu with additional questions. If you are interested, please apply no later than Monday, September 19, 2022.
