Donald Trump became the 45th president of the United States of America on January 20th 2017. Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino, from MTV’s acclaimed “Jersey Shore” was the first to ever utter the words back in 2011, “Mr. Trump I really think you should run for president” , for he did not know that Donald J. Trump would take those words seriously: no one knew that a billionaire businessman, reality TV star and Twitter celebrity would become the President of one of the most powerful countries in the world and the commander in chief of the world’s most advanced army.
At the time that I write this Trump has a 39% approval rating; Obama at 243 days had a 52% approval and George W. Bush had a 82% approval. In the 243 days of his presidency, Donald Trump has completely screwed over our country– 54 of those days being spent on a golf course or on vacation; 22% of his total presidency so far has not been focused on working with our government to improve society and work on real issues. Instead, he is removing countless environmental protection laws, trying to ban people from entering the U.S from Middle Eastern Muslim countries, fueling Twitter feuds with CNN over “fake news”, costing the U.S millions if not billions of dollars with the removal of DACA and taking away the opportunities to work from 800,000 childhood arrivals, forgiving racist and corrupt sheriffs, and also allowing, and in someways condoning Racist terrorism in Charlottesville, Virginia. He has ensued fear into lives of minorities and allowed for hatred and bigotry to prosper.
No one can say what will happen the next 1216 days of his presidency, but we know it will bring drama and a lot of news stories.
