Gibbon Sentence [Osmond]

Technology has made us able to connect with people across the globe, making our world much smaller. Exchanging news, culture, and ideas happen in an instant since we are all connected. However, technology does have its flaws. Online people can be anonymous, allowing them to say what they want without any consequences. This freedom grants people the ability to spread fear and misinformation to the public. Terrorist organizations have orchestrated attacks using social media to connect with each other. At what point does technology do more harm than good? An argument to solve this issue of terrorism would be to have the government monitor our post, search history, and presence online, but this will cost the publics personal freedom. What we must ask ourselves is what do we value more, the ability to be on the do what we want on the internet freely or to have our personal freedom invaded for the safety of the public.
