Applications Now Available: SGSA Professional Development Grants Due March 14th!

The SOLES Graduate Student Association (SGSA) offers SOLES students the opportunity to apply for grants to offset the cost of extended professional development opportunities in a student’s area of study. If there are virtual or in-person conferences, workshops, seminars, or speaker events that you would like to attend or participate in, consider applying for the SGSA grant to help with the cost!

Who is eligible to apply?
Currently enrolled SOLES student in good academic standing. Students who began their program this semester are also eligible.

How much money can I receive?
Up to but not exceeding $200.

When is the application deadline, and when will I hear back?
Monday, March 14th at 11:59pm. Applicants will be notified by the end of March.

If I get selected, how do I receive the funds?
The grants are disbursed as reimbursements. You will have to pay for the opportunity up front and provide receipts and proof of participation after your event has taken place to receive the grant as a reimbursement. All documentation must be in your name.

What else do I need to know?
For the Spring 2022 grants, the professional development opportunity must take place between January 1 and June 30, 2022. Also, it cannot go toward the fulfillment of an academic requirement of your program (e.g., Global Studies course, research materials for dissertation/class project, etc.).
