USD’s Spring Semester COVID-19 Testing Program

New health and safety protocols have been put in place for the spring 2022 semester at the University of San Diego.

Residential students moving into campus housing will have staggered move-in dates between January 24th and 26th. Students will need proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 96 hours of their move in date. Residential students will also be tested upon arrival at their residential check-in location. Check your move-in email for more detailed information.

Commuter students are required to register for COVID-19 testing on campus through Affinity, our testing service provider. Testing will take place via a drive-through test site in the Main and West parking garages Monday, January 31 through Friday, February 4. Commuter students must select the date and time they will come to campus for their COVID-19 test to facilitate a smooth process.

Those students, faculty and staff with a COVID-19 vaccine exemption will continue to be tested weekly outside of One Stop throughout the spring semester, just like they did in the fall semester.

Beginning on February 7, when in-person instruction begins, we are adding random COVID-19 testing for all vaccinated students, faculty and staff. Those selected for random testing will be notified in advance via email in order to register for a time and date. Testing must be completed the week after notification takes place.

Vaccinated students, faculty and staff who have been scheduled for a random COVID-19 test on campus must arrive at the testing location on your registered testing date. The testing will be monitored, but self-administered.

  • Using your mobile device, go to assurertw.com to scan or enter the barcode sticker on your test tube.
  • Make sure your hands are washed and dried or sanitized.
  • Remove the cotton swab without touching the tip of it.
  • Insert the tip of the swab into your nostril until the tip is no longer visible.
  • Rotate the swab around the entire inside of the edge of each nostril 10 times.
  • Place the tested swab into the tube.
  • On the barcode sticker, write your date of birth and your initials.
  • Place the tube into the specimen bag and give it to the attendant or place it in the courier box.

You will receive an email notification when your test results are ready to view.
