New Ph.D. Program in CFT at Alliant University

    The Alliant International University- San Diego Campus, is excited to announce it’s new PhD Program in Couple and Family Therapy. Alliant International University is one of the oldest accredited MFT programs in the country at the master’s and doctoral levels. Their longstanding PsyD program has now been modified and approved as a Ph.D. Program and are currently accepting it’s first cohorts into the new program starting in the Fall of 2025.
     The Alliant CFT Program on the San Diego Campus is a robust program with a strong and diverse faculty who are committed to both the personal and professional development of students and prepare them for successful and flourishing careers in the field. The Alliant CFT program in San Diego has a long history of working closely with originators and developers of family therapy theories including Virginia Satir (a central figure in experiential family therapy), Jay Haley (the developer of Strategic Family Therapy), and Sue Johnson (the developer of Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy). Today, David Epston (the co-founder of Narrative Therapy), is an associate faculty member at the Alliant CFT program and regularly participants in giving lectures and trainings on narrative therapy in selected courses and other campus related activities.
     The Alliant CFT Program in San Diego is the home of the Alliant Couple and Family Therapy Clinic and the Journal of Contemporary Narrative Therapy.
