CMFT Student Professional Travel Award

TO ALL CMFT STUDENTS:
Did you attend, or are you planning to attend, a conference during the Fall 2021 semester?
If so, consider applying for the Student Professional Travel Award.

The CMFT Department encourages students to get involved in professional organizations relevant to their career development and to attend academic and professional conferences. We invite students to apply for financial support to attend and present their work at a conference. Funds are intended to offset travel expenses and priority is given to students who will be presenting scholarly work.

Please note: Funds to cover registration fees for a conference should be requested through the SGSA grant process and/or other funding opportunities. Only under extenuating circumstances will registration be covered through this award.

Award: Maximum of $600 per application. Limit one award per academic year.

Criteria for student applicant:
— Registered as a current student in a CMFT program.
— In good academic standing and is holding regular graduate status.
— Has completed at least 9 credits towards the degree at the time of application.

Submission:  Complete request for Student Professional Travel Award form. Submit to the CMFT Academic Programs Manager.

Deadlines for submission:
— Fall term deadline: October 29 (Notification of award sent by November 15)
— Spring term deadline: March 15 (Notification of award sent by April 15)

Note that the application can be submitted anytime in advance of the conference attendance, i.e., it does not have to be submitted in the term in which the travel is to occur. For example, students can submit prior to the April deadline for travel in the summer or fall.

Please note that submission of the request does not guarantee an award.

Funds are limited and vary from year to year.
Sincerely,
-Counseling & MFT Department
