Assigning the AI Literacy Module to Your Students
Purpose
The AI@USD: Introduction to AI Literacy course helps our community build a shared foundation for using generative AI responsibly and effectively. This short, 20-minute, self-paced module introduces the fundamentals of AI literacy. It includes how generative AI works, how to evaluate AI-generated content critically, and how to apply ethical and professional best practices.
Upon completion, learners earn a digital badge issued by USD, which can be showcased on professional profiles such as LinkedIn.
How You Can Use It
Whether or not you are incorporating generative AI into your course curriculum, AI literacy is an essential modern day skill for all students. Assigning the AI@USD AI Literacy module provides students with the basic concepts for safe and ethical use of generative AI and faculty can easily leverage this out-of-the-box learning experience to ensure their students are equipped with this foundational knowledge.
Upon completion of the module, students will earn a digital badge that they can share with faculty to demonstrate completion of the modules. Use the directions below to assign the AI Literacy module to your students through Canvas.
