While technology has had positive impacts on the styles of writing throughout history, it has also had its discontents; the slow erasure of the artistic side of writing, a move towards impersonal versus personal pieces of writing, and the sacrifice of freedom in writing to gain refinement, to name a few. As technology has made it easier to create pieces of writing and build off previous works, it has lost its uniqueness and respect as an art form from each successive generation.
