Hello readers of this post, my name is Kevin Amoura a new freshman here at USD. I was born and currently reside in Poway California located twenty minutes north of the University of San Diego. I attended Painted Rock Elementary, Twin Peaks Middle school and Poway High School. During my middle school years, I played many instruments as it was a way to make me feel productive during my free time. The ever-expanding list of instruments at the time that I played went from saxophone to trophy triangle. A current fact about myself is that I am a commuting student from my hometown of Poway. I was raised in “The city in the country” as our slogan suggests meaning it is highly rural. This geographic location allows me to find many adventurous outdoor activities to participate in during my free time. One of these activities that I consistently participate in is hiking. I am lucky enough to live in Southern California close to the beaches but still have access to extraordinary mountain ranges. This gives me the opportunity to hike in locations that have breathtaking views like Lake Poway as an example. Furthermore, I enjoy the physical and more importantly the mental challenge that hiking presents. Now that I have enrolled at the University of San Diego, I plan to major in business finance and attend the university’s law program to become a corporate lawyer. I am thrilled to experience what the next four years at this university has to offer.
