Hi, I’m Jake Larson and I was born on January 31st, 2000.
Ever since I’ve shown up to USD, I have had somewhat of an identity crisis to the question, “where are you from?” This question should be easy for me to answer, but for some reason I say something different every time. I lived for thirteen years in Bellevue, Washington, then the last two years I lived in Severna Park, Maryland, then three weeks ago I moved to Newport Beach, California. I have moved a total of six times in my life, so I do not even know where my “home” is. Most people probably think this sucks, but I learned to see all this moving in a different way; it has made me a more adaptable person. I have always been a shy person, but constantly moving places has made me more willing to talk to new people, and going outside my comfort zone has brought new opportunities.
Other than all the moving, I take pride in my German heritage. My mom is from Germany and taught my sister and I German when we were little. Every summer for about ten years my mom my sister and I would visit family in Germany and got to see a lot of Europe in the process. I have played tennis since I was three years old and really enjoy not only the sport itself but also the social aspect, as that is how I made many of my Maryland friends.
Education has always been my priority number one, and I am thrilled to be here at USD for college. I worked diligently to get here and hope to make the most out of the next four years!
