Introduction [Thomson]

My name is Antonia Thomson and I am from Marin County, California– a smaller county right across the Golden Gate Bridge. I live in Missions B and my roommate, who I was randomly paired with, actually went to my high school with me. I have an older sister who is twenty-one and my whole family is extremely close. My mother is from Germany, so my sister and I speak German at home. I decided to come to USD because the sun and the beach keep me happy and motivated, while the university’s small class sizes and various study abroad programs appeal to me greatly. I loved my first semester but after just recently joining a sorority, I love the school so much more because I have met so many amazing people and feel more at home now. I am currently undeclared, but am very interested in Psychology after taking an introductory course last semester. I love fashion and shopping, but I also have a passion for exploring nature and traveling. At home, my friends and I love to watch sunset in some of our favorite spots like one called, Bolinas Ridge. I absolutely love where I’m from but have also fallen in love with San Diego these past few months. Another one of my hobbies is reading. My current favorite author is Gillian Flynn after reading the books, Dark Places and Sharp Objects over Winter Break. I do not get to read as much for pleasure as I’d like to during the school year, but I am looking forward to reading Frankenstein in this class and improving my writing skills!
