Review of Eddy Flores’s essay.
In Eddy’s Frankenstein essay the main idea is that the biggest mistake made by Victor Frankenstein was creating the creature and not taking responsibility of this act by nurturing and raising it in a humanly way. His idea was stated very clearly but there are not yet any quotes used as supportive evidence to this main idea. It appears that the claims and supporting evidence are in a very nice chronological order. The strongest part of the essay is definitely Eddy’s advanced vocabulary and ability to communicate his ideas is a very clear way, utilizing supporting evidence from events that occurred in the novel. I do however suggest the use of quotes from the novel to strengthen the claims made. The essay is in-fact written in a natural, engaging, and audience-centered style, but it could be further improved if there was less summarization of the actual book, and more support of claims. The essay concludes with the relation of Victor Frankensteins problems to the problems of our own society today. Eddy compares Frankensteins creation to the creations of technology in our society, and how things are slowly becoming out of our control. I very much like that he wrote about how we are currently in a technological revolution and expressed the possible dangers of our actions and compared our actions to those of Frankenstein’s. The essay contains many great ideas that are in need of just a little more support from the novel. Overall, it is very well written and has potential to get even better.
