Technological devices have increasingly incorporated internet virtual assistants (IVAs) in an effort to make consumer’s lives easier and less stressful. However, they cause serious security concerns as they connect to the much broader and more public sphere of the Internet of Things (IoT), thus certain policies must be put in place in order to protect individuals’ privacy.
