Job Posting: SOLES Global Center Graduate Assistant

The SOLES Global Center is looking for a Graduate Assistant for the Fall 2025 semester. The SOLES Global Center supports and contributes to the global and cross-cultural education of graduate students by coordinating global study courses for the School of Leadership and Education Sciences, the Kroc School for Peace and Justice, and the Hahn School of Nursing, organizing study abroad experiences for international universities visiting USD.

Summary of Responsibilities:
The Graduate Assistant will work at the Global Center reporting to the Assistant Director. A significant function of this position will be to provide basic office/clerical support for Global Center programs.

Tasks include:
● Writing articles on special events and global study programs
● Managing and updating the website
● Overseeing student centered events
● Organizing, promoting and administering frequent information meetings
● Front office coverage, including answering phones, receiving visitors and answering questions

● Assisting with all climate, racial, and social justice initiatives
● Responsible for social media engagement
● Responding to student inquiries regarding program activities
● Assisting with the development of international programs coming to USD
● Assisting with study abroad course coordination
● Designing advertisements and posters

Required Qualifications:
1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
2. Experience working in an office setting is preferred.
3. Ability to work with other staff members as part of a team.
4. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to use discretion when working with confidential materials.
5. Must have comfort level in working with multiple constituents including students, faculty, staff and international partners.
6. Creative student who is extremely proficient on an iMac computer and skilled at creating flyers and posters in Pages and/or Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

Please note that an offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.

Hours: Approximately 20 in person hours per week (M-F) between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm between August 30 and December 19, with a preference towards applicants available for the entire school year. Expected start date of approximately August 30. Specific working hours will be negotiated with the Assistant Director. The position may be renewed each semester subject to available funds. $20.00 per hour
