Bull sharks are able to adapt their osmoregulatory process to survive in areas as salty as the ocean or as fresh as a lake, and, like all sharks, their sixth sense (the Ampullae of Lorenzini, or jelly filled pores on the front of their nose that allow them to detect electrical fields created by the muscle movements of prey and other animals around them, and the Lateral Line which responds to vibrations and pressure changes in water then transduces these signals into electrical impulses) combined with their incredible ability to smell a drop of blood from a quarter mile away, make them extremely efficient hunters, and are the reason that they are responsible for about one fourth of all fatal attacks recorded worldwide.
