Personally, I enjoyed the small word press assignments that slowly prepared us for writing longer papers. It allowed me to get used to writing so the first paper wasn’t completely overwhelming. I also thought the research paper was the most helpful in the class. It was my first research paper ever done so I thought it was nice to be introduced to something new as a first-year student since I suspect these are very common in college. I felt like the topic wasn’t too difficult and it allowed me to explore the use of Copley Library and its tools. I feel more prepared in regard to writing papers in general now since I wasn’t required to write essays in this way in high school. I think what would be helpful is going over the citation styles more in depth and explaining the differences between Chicago and MLA since I felt that was confusing.
