Arts and Culture Leadership Courses Spring 2020

San Diego has a large and vibrant Arts and Culture sector that makes up 10% of our nonprofit sector. Arts and cultural organizations – including museums, theaters, dance companies, music ensembles, and opera companies – face issues that are unique among nonprofits. This essential sector needs informed, strategic leadership to help organizations adapt and thrive.

This nine-unit series provides an opportunity to closely examine complex issues in leadership in the arts and culture sector. Cultural leaders who participate in all three courses will become knowledgeable in addressing the challenges related to audience, private-sector competition, engagement, advocacy, facilities and more.

The next cohort begins Spring 2020:

Leadership in the Arts and Culture Sector (Spring 2020)
Leading Visitor-Facing Nonprofits (Fall 2020)
Arts and Culture Leadership Institutional Tour (January 2020 – Intersession)

Students in all Leadership Studies graduate programs are eligible to take this course to fulfill their elective requirements. Nonprofit leaders, including those not currently enrolled at USD, are also encouraged to participate alongside graduate students by applying now.
