ILA 2019 proposal information and brainstorming session!

Wed, 14 Nov, 4:30, MRH 201
Open to PhD in Leadership Studies and MA in Leadership Studies students.

This will be an information and brainstorming session to discuss, provide proposal best practices, and bounce around ideas for proposals for ILA 2019.  A number of USD leadership students submitted proposal and presented at ILA 2018 (West Palm Beach) this year.

* ILA 2019 theme: Leadership: Courage Required.  Location: Ottawa, CA.  Dates: 24 – 27 Oct.
* ILA invites proposals for panels, presentations, poster sessions, roundtables, symposia, and workshops.  They are looking for proposals “that are interdisciplinary, that are multi-sector, that transcend national and cultural barriers, that explore new theories and innovative practices, and that take advantage of knowledge and traditions from other disciplines and groups” (from ILA website).  The call for proposals opens 15 Nov & ends 1 Feb 2019 (at www.ila-net.org).

Cheryl will kick off the information session.  Than two recent ILA attendees (Cristina and Robert) will provide some details on the submission process, website, and submission best practices.  Than we’ll break up into groups to discuss thoughts and ideas.

Bring your ideas and your colleagues. You don’t need to have a completed research project or a full paper to submit. There are plenty of ways to present your ideas through panel discussions, workshops, roundtable conversations, and poster presentations.
