We are excited to announce that Professional and Continuing Education is now offering a self-paced online course on Graduate Writing Using APA Format. This convenient online self-paced course, taught by USD Faculty, will allow students to enhance their writing skills for graduate school success. Through interactive assignments and systematic instruction, students will be able to format a paper, project, thesis, or dissertation utilizing the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed.). Additionally, the course examines reference structure, citations, plagiarism, and mechanics of academic writing with appropriate grammar to be successful in producing scholarly papers in graduate-level courses.
In this course you will learn to:
- Apply APA style to original academic content
- Demonstrate use of appropriate grammar in original content
- Integrate the mechanics of APA style to include punctuation, capitalization, italics, and the use of numbers
- Utilize APA citations
- Construct basic tables and figures and import into Word
- Prepare a reference list using citation
Who Should Attend:
This course is for those planning to enter or currently enrolled in a graduate-level program who struggle with academic writing, English Language Learners, and those seeking to improve their writing skills and must prepare class assignments, publications, and projects according to APA’s Publication Manual (6th ed.)
