Here is a sample syllabus from Professor Deniz Perin-Coomb’s FYW 115 Course: Introduction to College Writing. This course introduces students to writing standards and strategies that will ultimately prepare them for FYW 150 and equip them to succeed in other courses at USD. Professor Perin-Coomb’s course includes short writing assignments and activities, as well as “pocket presentations,” in addition to two larger essay assignments.
