First Year Women Discussion Group

Join the Women’s Center in developing bonds of sisterhood while exploring gender-related issues!

The Women’s Center invites first year women to develop the bonds of sisterhood by surrounding themselves with women while discovering who they are called to be. First Year Women Rock serves as a community for all undergraduate students who identify as women new to USD. We invite first year women to engage in authentic conversation around topics such as friendship, relationships, cultural identity, body image, and school/life balance.

Past participants have shared that they “enjoyed the openness and laid-back atmosphere” and “finding a space for conversation among like-minded women” as they transitioned into USD life.  One student shared, “I liked everything!  I wish I had done this earlier!”

Dinner & discussions are held every other Tuesday in the Student Life Pavilion (SLP), 412 from 5:30-7pm (10/25, 11/8, 11/22, 12/6). Dinner is included!
