IPJ event: Aid that Works: Creating a 21st Century Vision for U.S. Development Assistance

Raymond C. Offenheiser, president of Oxfam America, speaks on the theme of peace through development.  Oxfam works on relief and development projects in countries like Haiti, El Salvador, and Indonesia to create lasting solutions to poverty, hunger and injustice.  The organization also has advocacy campaigns on climate change, transparent natural resource extraction and aid reform.  Offenheiser's talk will focus on how to make U.S. foreign aid more efficient, effective and supportive of long-term sustainable development.
