The LRC, including the library and the large classroom, will receive a substantial facelift over the next 5-6 weeks. The work began with demolition on Wednesday, June 13, to remove the fabric wall covering, which will be replaced in the information services area, the atrium, the rear wall of the reading room, and the group study rooms. Some areas will be repainted. Additionally, our restrooms will be refurbished. This work will be disruptive.
There may be days when the water is completely turned off. Concrete work in the restrooms will be very noisy. There may be fumes from paint and glue. In turn, each side of the atrium will be blocked by scaffolding.
Signs will be posted to notify library patrons of the project and where work will be concentrated on various days. We understand that this work may inconvenience or annoy some patrons. We can only apologize at this time and recommend the quietest floors for each particular day. The best alternative is to study at the Copley library during the day and come to the LRC after 3:00 p.m., after the workers have finished. If you have questions about the status of the project on a particular day, call the Circulation Desk at 619-260-4542.
