Translating at Guantanamo

"Mahvish Khan, an Afghan American law student at the University of Miami, … wangled her way into an interpreting assignment with American lawyers traveling to Guantanamo to represent detainees in their petitions for habeas corpus before U.S. courts." Her piece, My Guantanamo Diary, appears in the Washington Post (Sunday, April 30, 2006; Page B01).  An online chat transcript is available as well — "Outlook: Realities of Guantanamo."
