Important Next Steps

Confirm Your Enrollment

Reserve your seat in our incoming class by submitting your enrollment confirmation form and enrollment deposit to the Office of Graduate Admissions.

Claim Your USDOne Account and Email

24 hours after making the enrollment deposit, you can register and claim your USDOne account and email. You will need your USD ID number, date of birth, and personal email address that you provided to USD during the application process.

Course Registration for Fall 2024

A webinar will be held in July to discuss how to register for courses, and what to register for. All confirmed students will be invited to the webinar. Registration will open following the webinar -- stay tuned for more details.

A student may only register when their immunization requirements have been fulfilled and the hold on their student account is lifted by the Student Health Center.

Pick Up Your Student ID

Your Torero ID card is very important, as it's used on campus for identification, campus cash, and to check out library materials. To obtain a Torero ID Card, you must be registered for classes and should bring a valid picture ID (such as a driver's license or a passport) for identity verification to Campus Card Services, located in Hahn University Center, Room 127 on the basement level.

Financial Aid (U.S. Residents Only)

We know that financing your graduate education is a priority. Financial Aid applications are processed once a year for Fall matriculation. Be sure to apply as soon as you are admitted.

Scholarship Opportunities

All admitted students will be emailed the scholarship application. Please email krocadmissions@sandiego.edu if you have not been sent the scholarship application.

We encourage all graduate students to research and secure funding opportunities they qualify for. We have listed some opportunities for your review here.

Graduate Assistantships

Kroc School students also have the opportunity to work in collaboration with Kroc School faculty. Learn more about the Kroc School Graduate Assistantship Program. Available graduate assistantships will be advertised at the beginning of each semester.

Fellowships

The Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice (Kroc IPJ) offers sought-after fellowships in which students support the Kroc Kroc IPJ’s peacebuilding programs. These 15-hours-per-week positions, awarded during the admission process to the Kroc School, are paid and also offer additional tuition support of $5,000.00 for the academic year.

Application details will be shared in March with admitted students.

One Stop Student Center

USD's One Stop Student Center is the place to get answers to questions related to financial aidstudent accountscourse registration, and additional campus resources. Students should direct questions to the One Stop Student Center.

New Student Orientation

All orientation courses and events are mandatory.

Confirmed students will be enrolled in a self-paced online orientation course on Canvas that must be completed before the mandatory in-person orientation.

Mandatory, in-person orientation will be held over two days, Tuesday, September 3, and Friday, September 6. The exact times and locations will be announced later this summer.

Welcome International Students!

We are proud that so many international students choose to study at the Kroc School and the University of San Diego. The Office of International Students and Scholars (OISS) offers a variety of resources to assist you throughout your experience at USD. Please note that all international students are required to check in with OISS upon arrival in San Diego. For additional information about this very important check-in process and information related to arrival to the United States, please visit the OISS website.

International orientation is also mandatory. Please check the OISS website for details and keep an eye out for more information sent to your USD email.

After you submit the enrollment deposit, you will receive instructions via email from the Office of Graduate Admissions (grads@sandiego.edu) on the next steps regarding uploading your visa documentation to the university’s iTorero portal.

If you plan to study on an F-1 visa, you will be required to submit immigration and financial documentation via iTorero to receive your Form I-20.

If you plan to attend the university under a different visa type (for example, the J visa, H visa, etc.), you will be required to upload your visa documentation to iTorero before you can register for classes.

Once you have completed your iTorero requirements, you can expect to receive additional information by email about your required orientations and the start of classes.

Health Insurance Requirement

All University of San Diego full-time graduate students are required to have health insurance. When you register for classes, your student account will be charged for the USD Student Health Insurance Plan. Students must decide to enroll or waive by answering questions online. A new waiver needs to be submitted at the beginning of each academic year.

Required Immunization and TB Screenings

As part of the University’s commitment to protecting the health and well-being of all our students, there are matriculation requirements for tuberculosis (TB) screening and certain immunizations. Registration holds are in place until the requirements are met. Please visit the Student Health Center webpage for more information.
