INTERNSHIPS

Ashoka Intern

Since its launch in 2008, Ashoka U has selected 51 Changemaker Campuses globally, engaged 600 colleges and universities in Ashoka U programs, and supported 4000+ educators and senior administrators as they designed and taught courses, produced research, and created and implemented strategy. We also catalyzed over 2 million students to gain education and skill-building in changemaking and social innovation. Ashoka has several open positions for interns.

FELLOWSHIPS

Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship

The Herbert Scoville Jr. Peace Fellowship provides full-time six to nine-month paid fellowships for recent college and graduate school alumni to work on international peace and security issues with one of more than two dozen participating public-interest organizations in Washington, DC. Scoville Fellows have the opportunity to work with senior-level staff and to conduct research, write articles and reports, organize talks and conferences sponsored by their host institution, and directly support public education and advocacy initiatives. Fellows may explore a range of issues, including nuclear, biological, and chemical arms control and nonproliferation; conflict prevention,  peacebuilding, and atrocity prevention: conventional arms trade; environmental security; defense budget; diplomacy; emerging technology threats; and global health security. They may also attend coalition meetings, congressional hearings, and policy briefings, as well as meetings with policy experts arranged by the program.

Applications for the Fall 2023 fellowship are due January 7, 2023.

Consortium Speaker Series

The Consortium’s Speaker Series brings an international roster of frontline practitioners, reflective activists, and engaged scholars to the University of Massachusetts Boston’s campus. Their talks address the complex realities of women’s and men’s lives and livelihoods in conflict-affected areas, the challenges of trying to bring feminist commitments into security policy and humanitarian practice, and the ways in which gender analysis can and must transform resolutely “gender-blind” paradigms of conflict resolution and peacebuilding. Information about Upcoming Speaker Events, Events Earlier This Year, and Past Speaker Events are available here. You can find videos or transcripts of these events, when available, under Consortium Lectures.
