The 11th annual University of San Diego Technology Showcase 2016 brought in 273 people to preview the latest classroom technology available today. The attending faculty, staff, and students had the opportunity to experience everything from robots, interactive whiteboards, and classroom mock setups. The show kicked off with a keynote presentation by Chad Kainz from Blackboard, Inc. to talk about enhancing the student experience in the classroom.
Following the keynote, the doors to the show floor opened up with over 25 booths — including Dropbox, Lenovo, Apple, Dell, Wolfvision, Southland, Harman, Sonic Foundry, Adobe, Absolute, Sharp, and Blackboard. The show also included a few educational booths, such as; the mock classroom to help faculty understand the media equipment in a USD classroom, and our very own ITS Help Desk “Tech Wars: Return of Data” booth that reminded faculty, staff, and students the importance of backing up their personal and work data to prevent data loss — in a Star Wars/Jedi training theme.
San Diego’s own channel 5 news and Spanish news channel Televisa were on site to cover the event. Take a look at the news coverage below.
