In the article, “As We May Think”, Bush predicts that in the future, there will be devices that humans rely on greatly. He explains how these kind of devices will be able to store and access more information than ever before. Bush mentions how far science has already come with advancements in medicine, security, shelter, the environment and more, yet it is only increasingly growing more and more every day. The technology Bush predicts to be developed in the future is so similar to what we actually do have today that it’s almost scary that he was able to predict it. One interesting prediction was when he stated we are rapidly allowing people easy access to material goods, however not actual needs. This was interesting because it is somewhat true. Although we have made strides in improving physical and mental health in some ways, new issues are arising because of the advancement of technology and easy access to material goods. An accurate prediction was that he brought up the possibility of computer transactions. I’m sure most people in his generation would have ever predicted how easy it would soon be to order anything on a computer or a phone.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
