In “As We May Think”, Vannevar Bush talks about the future of information and knowledge. Back then, he said new information and discoveries were not published quick enough to the public. He predicted the “memex” which was a collective memory machine, which sounds similar to a computer. However, he did not know the extent to how much more information could be stored other than just books and encyclopedias. This would allow others to reach information more easily and therefore new information can be obtained.\u00a0Bush believes that without this device we are being limited. I think he makes a strong point that we do need to record our learned lessons in order to move forward in science. He also accurately predicts the voice recognition advances. He also mentions the compression of materials specifically books, so that more information can be stored.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
