In the readings for the Fourth Sunday in Advent, we hear a verse from the prophet, Isaiah echoed in the Gospel:

“Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means “God is with us.”

– Matthew 1:23

FST Gear

Our student leadership team have come up with some excellent swag items that are available to order. Orders will be taken until Friday, December 19 and will benefit the work of RiseUp Industries, a company inspired by HomeBoy Industries in Los Angeles started by Fr. Greg Boyle, S.J. It assists previously incarcerated, formerly gang involved individuals to successfully re-enter society; thereby, reducing the gang population and the recidivism rate. We are happy to support such a ministry. The items should be in available soon after the holidays.

Service Opportunity

Every Tuesday, We See You San Diego hosts a dinner and distribution of clothing and health/hygiene products for the homeless community at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Old Town San Diego – Volunteers are needed to set up, serve dinner or clean up between 3:00pm and 9:00pm. Your participation is welcome. December 16 will be the next opportunity to serve. This will be the third Tuesday of the month, a day that some FST students and staff have committed to volunteer.
