In the passage for Holy Thursday for the Gospel of John, Jesus washes the feet of his disciples.
Former FST professor, Michael Guinan, OFM, states that this is both “an example of humble service, symbolically characterizing Jesus’ impending suffering and death as a work of service” and “an expression of friendship based on equality, subverting in principle all structures of domination.”
How are we being called to serve others with a heart of friendship?
Have a blessed Holy Week and Easter. FST offices will be closed from 12pm on Thursday, April 17 through Monday, April 21.
