Omicron Delta Epsilon

The Economics faculty invite applications from qualified students for membership in Omicron Delta Epsilon (ODE), the  International Honor Society in Economics.

ODE elects as members top academic achievers who are genuinely interested in economics.  Acceptance recognizes scholastic achievement in economics.

To apply, complete the application form available from Prof. Yandell’s website at

     http://home.sandiego.edu/~yandell/ode.html

and return it (with an electronic copy of your current Degree Audit from Degree Works) to yandell@sandiego.edu by Wednesday, Feb 28th, 2018.

If accepted to join ODE, the lifetime membership fee is $40.  Membership requires at least junior status, at least 4 courses completed in Economics with a 3.0 GPA or better, a 3.0 GPA overall, and class standing in the top one-third.

Omicron Delta Epsilon was founded in 1915 by John R. Commons and Frank W. Taussig.  Today, ODE is one of the world’s largest academic honor societies with about 450 chapters worldwide.  The Omega Chapter of California was established at the University of San Diego in 1982.

New members of ODE receive electronic access to the affiliated journal, The American Economist, for one year free of charge .  A membership scroll is provided to each initiate.  Please see Prof. Yandell if you have any questions.
