The 4th Annual Ellen Potter Research Connections for Teachers Symposium will take place Saturday, October 5th from 8:30-3:00p at the Salk Institute. The event will include scientific talks from three Salk scientists in a seminar environment, and an afternoon workshop where attendees will collaborate to apply what they learned to create NGSS-aligned lesson plans on the topics of question design and model application and analysis.<\/p>\n

The theme for the 2019 Symposium is \u201cModeling and Scientific Inquiry in the Lab\u201d, focusing on developing scientific questions that lead to meaningful answers. This year\u2019s speakers include Dr. Geoff Wahl, a pioneer in breast cancer research, Ken Diffenderfer, Assistant Director of the Stem Cell Core Facility and Dr. Kathleen DelGiorno, a staff scientist in Dr. Wahl\u2019s lab focusing on pancreatic tumors.
