This year&#8217;s theme is\u00a0<strong>&#8220;Teaching in the Face of (Im)migration, Incarceration, and Borders: Ethnic Studies Resistance.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><\/strong>Keynote speakers\u00a0<strong>Dr. Medina Abdullah<\/strong>\u00a0(Black Lives Matter, Los Angeles and Cal State Los Angeles) and<strong>\u00a0Maria Figueroa-Chacon<\/strong>, (Puente Project, Mira Costa College), as well as morning and afternoon sessions offered by educators, students and activists, will address ways that Ethnic Studies in K-12 and collegiate settings can transform education and empower students. We hope to foster vibrant discussions about the future of Ethnic Studies in California, and empower attendees to make connections and learn from one another.
