The SOLES Graduate Student Association (SGSA) offers\u00a0SOLES students the opportunity to apply for grants to offset the cost of extended professional development opportunities in a student\u2019s area of study. If there are virtual or in-person conferences, workshops, seminars, or speaker events that you would like to attend or participate in, consider applying for the\u00a0SGSA grant to help with the cost!<\/span><\/p>\n

Who is eligible to apply?<\/strong>
\nCurrently enrolled SOLES student in good academic standing. Students who began their program this semester are also eligible.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

How much money can I receive?<\/strong>
\nUp to but not exceeding $200.<\/span><\/p>\n

When is the application deadline, and when will I hear back?\u00a0<\/strong>
\nMonday, March 14th at 11:59pm<\/u>. Applicants will be notified by the end of March.<\/span><\/p>\n

If I get selected, how do I receive the funds?<\/strong>
\nThe grants are disbursed as reimbursements. You will have to pay for the opportunity up front and provide receipts and proof of participation after your event has taken place to receive the grant as a reimbursement. All documentation\u00a0must<\/u>\u00a0be in your name.<\/span><\/p>\n

What else do I need to know?<\/strong>
\nFor the Spring 2022 grants, the\u00a0professional development opportunity must take place between\u00a0January 1 and June 30, 2022<\/u>. Also, it\u00a0cannot<\/u>\u00a0go toward the fulfillment of an academic requirement of your program (e.g., Global Studies course, research materials for dissertation\/class project, etc.).<\/span><\/p>\n
