Learn, explore, and be transformed in Chile this January!<\/p>\n

Join student affairs leaders from across the globe this January in Chile to build bridges between higher education in the U.S. and Latin America. With one the most diverse topographies in Latin America, a rich heritage, and beautiful sunsets, Chile has so much to offer.<\/p>\n

Graduate students looking for experiences in higher education outside of the U.S. will have the unique opportunity to learn from experienced global educators, alongside students from all backgrounds and institution types. This is more than just a study tour where participants observe from a distance; this initiative includes shared inquiry learning designed to benefit Chile, its educators and students, as well as visitors. The Building Bridges initiative provides the opportunity for graduate students to explore how student affairs in Chile has been leveraged to enhance student learning and contribute to the employability of graduates, fueling innovation in a growing economy.<\/p>\n

Exploring Chilean higher education through the lens of the global landscape will be enhanced by plentiful opportunities for informal networking and relationship building as we tour Santiago, Chile\u2019s largest city and home to Latin America\u2019s tallest skyscraper. Visits to both historic and modern universities round out the excursion itinerary, as well as a trip to the newly opened Baha\u2019i Temple\u2014 a statement of welcome to all nationalities and cultures. Finally, venture beyond the city limits to explore vineyards producing cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, and malbec varietals, nestled in valleys just inside the longest coastline in the world.<\/p>\n

The Building Bridges registration includes the online course, onsite meeting, accommodations, most meals,\u00a0and registration for NASPA Chile\u2019s International Education Summit hosted by Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile, one of the oldest and most prominent universities in Chile.<\/p>\n

Conversational Spanish is not required, but is desirable. Some events will have translation services available throughout our time in Chile. Exploring common goals in the primary language is an ideal opportunity to network with the growing number of student affairs educators in Latin America.<\/p>\n

As the internationalization of student affairs continues to expand, your participation will enhance your intercultural competencies to continue developing as a leader in the global student affairs exchange.
