The primary aim of the Collective, which is funded through a two-year strategic initiative grant from the University of San Diego, is to provide new opportunities for studying and addressing homelessness and food insecurity on our campus and in our local community. We invite the whole campus community to participate in our work this year, which focuses on four core areas: research projects, course development, community engagement, and advocacy initiatives\/events.<\/p>\n

Submit Proposals for Faculty-Student Research Grants<\/strong>
\nBasic Eligibility<\/strong>: faculty-student teams conducting collaborative, interdisciplinary research that advances understanding of homelessness and food insecurity in San Diego
\nAmount:<\/strong>\u00a0up to $10,000 for the academic year
\nDeadline:<\/strong>\u00a0September 27, 2019
\nInformation Sessions<\/strong>:<\/strong>\u00a0two sessions will be held in mid-September

Basic Needs Acknowledgement
\n<\/strong>We encourage faculty to include this\u00a0brief statement<\/a>\u00a0on\u00a0their course syllabus or course website, which\u00a0is intended to ensure that students facing housing or food insecurity are aware of the resources and support available to them at USD.<\/p>\n
