SALTON SEA Environmental & Social Justice Trip – April 28-30

Interested in exploring topics of environmental justice, social justice, and equity?
Join Outdoor Adventures through USD on Friday, April 28 – Sunday, April 30 on camping trip that will provide opportunities to explore the natural environment of the Salton Sea, meet with local leaders to learn about the complicated challenges of managing the lake, and discuss, engage, and reflect with each other.
More info: The Salton Sea–California’s largest lake, created by accident and once a hub for recreation and wildlife. The lake is now shrinking due to evaporation and a decrease in agricultural runoff (the lake’s primary water source), creating significant environmental and public health problems.
Cost of this event is nominal at $10/per person and includes transportation, equipment and food. Because you are a SOLES student, the SOLES Sustainability Committee has offered to cover this cost for you on a first come-first serve basis (aka it’s FREE)!
