Dear CMFT Students,
\n<\/span>
\nThis is a friendly reminder of the March 15th Deadline to apply for funding. Please see the details below and let us know if you have any questions.<\/span><\/p>\n

Did you attend, or are you planning to attend, a conference during the Spring 2022 semester? Did you purchase curricular or research materials for your research project? Did you attend training\u00a0supporting your professional development? If so, consider applying for the\u00a0Student Professional Development Award.<\/a><\/p>\n

The CMFT Department encourages students to get involved in professional organizations relevant to their career development, attend academic and professional conferences as well as to conduct original research. We invite students to apply for financial support to attend and present their work at conferences, pursue their research, or attend other professional\u00a0development opportunities. Funds are intended to offset conference and other professional development expenses. Priority is given to students who will be presenting scholarly work.<\/p>\n

Award: \u00a0Maximum of $600 per application for travel, and $100 for other professional development needs.\u00a0 Limit one award per year.<\/p>\n

Criteria for student applicant:
\n— Registered as a current student in a CMFT program.
\n— In good academic standing and is holding regular graduate status.<\/p>\n

Priority for funding decisions:
\n— Highest priority will be given to students who are first\/sole author of a presentation.
\n— Priority will also be given to didactic presentations compared to poster presentations.
\n— Co-authored presentations have priority over students who are not presenting any work.
\n— Priority is given to students who have never received a CMFT Professional Grant before.<\/p>\n

Submission:
\nComplete the\u00a0Student Professional Development Award form<\/a>\u00a0to submit to the CMFT Academic Programs Manager.<\/p>\n

Deadlines for submission:
\n— Fall term deadline: October 1(Notification of award sent November 1)
\n— Spring term deadline: March 15 (Notification of award sent April 15)<\/p>\n

Note that the application can be submitted anytime in advance of the conference attendance, i.e., it does not have to be submitted in the term in which the travel is to occur. For example, students can submit prior to the April deadline for travel in the summer or fall. Students must be registered\/current students at time of travel.<\/p>\n

Please note that submission of the request does not guarantee an award.<\/p>\n
