With COVID-19 increasing the number of DV cases across the country, we wanted to highlight a community resource,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccssd.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-saferedirecturl=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?q=https:\/\/www.ccssd.org\/&amp;source=gmail&amp;ust=1601584797425000&amp;usg=AFQjCNFmxzy3SiKgMwI_wk32d3sOCEV5zQ\">Center for Community Solutions<\/a>\u00a0(CCS), that would be helpful to provide to your clients or share with those you know are in need of support. CCS\u00a0serves victims\/survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in San Diego.\u00a0CCS Advocates help\u00a0survivors navigate systems, and make informed decisions, while providing a supportive and non-judgmental presence. CCS Advocates also help connect survivors with the information, resources, and referrals they need to further their own goals.\u00a0Being familiar with this community organization and the services they provide can be beneficial as you enter the professional counseling and MFT field, regardless of your direct client population. Attached is a general city-wide resource guide for those interested in doing more research.<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><u>CCS Domestic Violence Services:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>24\/7, free &amp; confidential hotline (888) 385-4657 \u2013 crisis intervention and referrals\u00a0related to domestic violence, sexual assault and stalking in San Diego.<\/li>\n<li>Safety planning \u2013 ongoing to address changing needs.<\/li>\n<li>Crisis intervention and peer support.<\/li>\n<li>Victim Rights \u2013 information including Marsy\u2019s Law and California statutes.<\/li>\n<li>San Diego County Family Courts \u2013 help to understand and navigate the system.<\/li>\n<li>Court-related Accompaniment (subject to availability\/circumstances).<\/li>\n<li>Domestic Violence Restraining Order hearings.<\/li>\n<li>Family Court hearings, such as Custody Order hearings.<\/li>\n<li>Law Enforcement and Child Welfare Services meetings\/interviews.<\/li>\n<li>Domestic Abuse Forensic Exams \u2013 information, referral and accompaniment during forensic exams for IPV survivors of severe abuse or strangulation.<\/li>\n<li>High Risk Teams \u2013 information, referral and accompaniment. Click here to view High Risk Team details.<\/li>\n<li>Assistance completing Victims of Crime (VOC) and Safe at Home (confidential address) applications.<\/li>\n<li>Help accessing community resources and programs addressing housing\/rental needs, food resources, financial assistance, public benefits (CalFresh\/SNAP, Medi-Cal, Cal. Unemployment Insurance), immigration, and other needs.<\/li>\n<li>Referrals to legal, counseling, child advocacy, sexual assault advocacy, and shelter programs within Center for Community Solutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><u>Location and Contact Information:<\/u><\/p>\n<p>Central San Diego services are at 4508 Mission Bay Drive, San Diego, CA 92109.
