The SOLES Global Center is looking for a Graduate Assistant for the Fall 2025 semester. The SOLES Global Center supports and contributes to the global and cross-cultural education of graduate students by coordinating global study courses for the School of Leadership and Education Sciences, the Kroc School for Peace and Justice, and the Hahn School of Nursing, organizing study abroad experiences for international universities visiting USD.<\/p>\n

Summary of Responsibilities:
\n<\/strong>The Graduate Assistant will work at the Global Center reporting to the Assistant Director. A significant function of this position will be to provide basic office\/clerical support for Global Center programs.<\/p>\n

Tasks include:
\n\u25cf Writing articles on special events and global study programs
\n\u25cf Managing and updating the website
\n\u25cf Overseeing student centered events
\n\u25cf Organizing, promoting and administering frequent information meetings
\n\u25cf Front office coverage, including answering phones, receiving visitors and answering questions<\/p>\n

\u25cf Assisting with all climate, racial, and social justice initiatives
\n\u25cf Responsible for social media engagement
\n\u25cf Responding to student inquiries regarding program activities
\n\u25cf Assisting with the development of international programs coming to USD
\n\u25cf Assisting with study abroad course coordination
\n\u25cf Designing advertisements and posters<\/p>\n

Required Qualifications:<\/strong>
\n1. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
\n2. Experience working in an office setting is preferred.
\n3. Ability to work with other staff members as part of a team.
\n4. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the ability to use discretion when working with confidential materials.
\n5. Must have comfort level in working with multiple constituents including students, faculty, staff and international partners.
\n6. Creative student who is extremely proficient on an iMac computer and skilled at creating flyers and posters in Pages and\/or Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)<\/p>\n

Special Conditions of Employment:<\/strong>
\nWe serve a diverse international and domestic student and faculty population. As such, a demonstrated commitment to inclusion and cross-cultural awareness is vital for the services we provide. In addition, confidentiality is essential with respect to student files\/information, email messages, student and university correspondence, phone calls, memos, and other information pertaining to the SOLES Global Center and the University of San Diego. Please note that an offer of employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background check.<\/p>\n

Hours<\/strong>: Approximately 20 in person hours per week (M-F) between the hours of 9:00am-5:00pm between August 30 and December 19, with a preference towards applicants available for the entire school year. Expected start date of approximately August 30. Specific working hours will be negotiated with the Assistant Director. The position may be renewed each semester subject to available funds. $20.00 per hour<\/p>\n
