We have a full-time position for a Marriage & Family Therapist OR a Licensed Professional MH Counselor at the Los Angeles Ambulatory Care Center (Downtown LA) of the Greater LA VA HCS.\u00a0Position is Hybrid Telework eligible; prior VA experience not required.<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

This position serves as a member of a multidisciplinary team within the Substance Use Disorders (SUD) Clinic in the Mental Health Service Line program. The clinician is responsible for coordinating and providing specialty SUD counseling, conducts assessment interviews, develops treatment plans, and provides treatment to eligible Veterans following Behavioral Health Standards of The Joint Commission. Treatment modalities may include crisis intervention, intake evaluations, outreach services as well as empirically based treatment for SUD and co-occurring mental health conditions. The clinician will work in a trans-disciplinary team setting with psychologists, social workers, nurses, psychiatrists, addiction therapists, peer support specialists, and\/or social science techs. The clinician delivers services based on the recovery model, providing patients ongoing mental health assessment, intervention, treatment planning, care coordination, and education in a supportive, patient-centered and recovery-oriented environment. The clinician may refer clients to other programs and professionals as appropriate. The clinician also participates in and provides consultation to other team members and participates in conjoint emergency treatment with medical facility mental health personnel. The clinician may participate in the completion of data collection\/analysis, program evaluation and development to enhance patient outcomes. In addition to the described functions, clinician provides patients with elements of care coordination, case management, and other ancillary functions to the provision of professional treatment and team-based services as assigned.<\/p>\n
