Fabulous First Friday: Can Service-Learning Work in my Discipline?

Friday, April 5th 2013 from 10:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. in Copley Library Conference Room

This two-hour session will offer practical ideas, tools, and support for anyone who has begun to integrate a community service-learning component into their course or has been considering doing so.


The session includes a 20-minute video program presenting:• The key principles of service-learning—reflection and reciprocity
• The benefits of service-learning for both students and communities
• How to link activities to outcomes
• The different types of service-learning
• Examples of service learning from various disciplines 

Representatives from USD’s Center for Community Service-Learning (CSL) will be on hand to answer questions and offer support. Valuable supplemental materials will also be available.
